Early 2016 GB2K lost one of their very own "GB2K Kidz", Rafael Aldalva Johnson at the age of 21 to self harm, who suffered in silence from abuse and an uncle who was a veteran who was abused in a nursing home, which lead to his untimely death.
Months after grieving and healing, we extended our organization's mission and vision, The R.J. Foundation was founded in order to bring awareness of both Mental Health and Abuse of Veterans. We took action by opening a transition home (The R.J. Foundation House) for homeless veterans and created programs to aid in the reinvention and self-confidence process, by providing strategic tools and resources to help combat mental health, domestic violence and abuse.
In 2020 GB2K and The R.J. Foundation became a proud Founding Partner of the MTV Entertainment's Group Mental Health Action Day "MHAD" with over 1750 other Founding Partners who decided to TAKE ACTION to improve our Mental Health.
